Italian style almond biscuit


 

Butter: half a cup (soft)

Sugar: one and a quarter

Eggs: 3 pieces

Anise: 1 teaspoon (extract)

Flour: 2 cups

Baking powder: 2 teaspoons

Salt: a quarter of a teaspoon

Almonds: 12 cup (chopped)

Milk: 2 tsp


How to prepare


Whisk the butter with a cup of sugar with an electric whisk until the mixture is creamy and fluffy.


Add eggs and anise extract and mix well.


Mix the flour, baking powder and salt.


Add the flour mixture to the egg, butter and sugar mixture and mix well until a firm and soft dough forms.


Then add the almonds and stir the mixture.


Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and brush it with a little butter.


Divide the biscuit dough in half, and shape each half into a large rectangle.


Cut the dough into thick fingers with a sharp knife.


Brush the biscuits with milk and sprinkle the rest of the sugar on the biscuit fingers.


Place the biscuits in the prepared tray and put them in the oven at 375 for 20 minutes, until the biscuits are golden in color.


Remove the tray from the oven and leave the biscuits to cool for 15 minutes and serve.
