Information on the chemistry of the cream industry

Cosmetic creams are one of the materials that you use women to care for their hair, skin and body, whether creams that are made at home using natural materials, or ready creams that enter chemicals in their manufacture.

It is a lotion that is used mostly on the skin, as well as can be used by applying it to the mucous membranes such as the vagina and rectum.

It can be a medicinal preparation, it can be cosmetic, the cream is similar to a dry emulsion of water and oil.

The cream is divided into two types:

Oil cream in water

It is small droplets that form from the oil and are scattered in continuous fluidity.

Water Cream in oil

It is small droplets of water that are continuously oily.

Oil cream in water is considered more acceptable because it is less greasy, as well as is easier to wash with water so it is more comfortable to use.

Water Cream in oil is the most difficult to use and deal with, but we find that the drugs that are placed in the cream are hydrophobic, so it is faster to exit than water cream in oil.

Also, the water cream in the oil is more moisturizing than the other because it creates an oily barrier that reduces the loss of water from the outer layer of the skin.

Water is the basis of all types of cosmetics, such as moisturizers, creams, deodorants, cosmetic powders, shampoos and hair softeners, water is used as solvents for other materials, as well as used to form emulsions for consistency, and all materials used in cosmetics are pure and distilled water, as well as free from contaminants and germs.

Emulsifiers you can know that are the ingredients that contribute to the protection of various substances such as water and oil from separation, and a lot of cosmetics rely on them.

It is an important ingredient that is added to cosmetics to increase its shelf life, as well as to prevent the growth of microorganisms such as fungi and bacteria that are the cause of corruption of the product or damage the user, and that most of the preservatives are soluble in water.

This is because many microbes live in water, and preservatives used in cosmetics can be natural or artificial, such as benzene, parabens, salicylic acid, and formaldehyde .

These emollients include olive oil, beeswax, petroleum jelly, zinc oxide, coconut oil, lanolin, mineral oil and glycerin.

 Dyes or colored materials

They can be mineral components such as manganese, iron oxide, chromium oxide, mica chips, and tar, and may be components of some plants such as beet powder, or of animals, such as the Scarlet bug.

They are chemicals, either natural or synthetic, added to cosmetics to give them an attractive fragrance.

They are added to cosmetics to gain them the desired density, and they are in four chemical families are:

Fatty condensate

They are stearic acid, cetyl alcohol, carnauba wax.

Naturally produced capacitors

Such as guar gum, hydroxyethyl cellulose, hylatin, xanthan gum.

Metal capacitors

Such as aluminum, and magnesium silicate .

 Synthetic capacitors

Russia, which is commonly used in moisturizers and creams .

Components of foundation creams

As the foundation creams all contain three main groups of ingredients, namely: fillers, moisturizers, and colorants, the cream for the foundation of powdery does not contain water, because the moisturizing foundation is made of oil or wax, and water, and also contains a filler that contributes to the smooth foundation distribution on the face.
